Europe has always been the number one place to experience other cultures and societies - that are different from yours. This is true whether you are from another country in Europe or are from another continent like North or South America, Australia, Asia, Africa, or Middle/Near East.

Now with the break-up of the eastern block of Europe this is even more so. To see the older ways of 10-50 years ago before they change too much - in Prague it is already too late as it has changed to free economy. But other countries have not as yet changed enough that you can’t recognize some of the old ways.

Along with that many tourist and travelers are not willing to pay 5 star prices for accommodations. Many middle-aged are willing to have a nice clean room that is perhaps smaller and has a shared bath - you aren’t going to live in the room and you didn’t come to another country to spend a lot of time in the room - could have stayed home and done that.

We took ALL our source material on traveling concerning each of these cities - combined them into one long list. The we call ALL the agencies asking for prices from New York.
