Fares directly to Budapest from the USA always quoted exactly the same as Prague. So whatever is said here about Prague airfares will be exactly the same for Budapest.

Transportation From Budapest Airport - This one was easy for us. We used the visitor service booth right in the middle of the airport. Make sure you use this one. There are a couple of others all in a row by the outside wall as you exit the airport - they were less helpful than the one in the center. They got the mini-bus service right to the hotel. Went by a couple of other hotels first - that is fine as we asked the driver about this and that as we went. Sort of our own mini-tour without ever having been in the town. The cost was $8US. There also is the public bus transportation and that cost is roughly $2.50. And of course you can take a taxi - make real sure it is arranged by someone official looking behind a counter and you have the cost in writing.

NOTE: There are 2 - yes 2 airports. Make sure you know at which one you landed - as you will have to know which one to go to when you leave. They are close to one another. They are Ferihegy I and Ferihegy II. II is newer and where Malev  (Hungarian airline) lands as well as one or two other airlines and I am not sure which ones. Just be aware of this. I am quite sure if you knew what airlines you were flying the driver would know which airport - but to be safe you know which airport too.

Ferihegy II has a Tourist Information Counter and Accommodations Bookings in the middle of the Airport Lobby -
